Faith Under Siege
Documenting the Crackdown Against Religious Minorities in Iran After the 12-Day War
December 19, 2025
Overview
Faith Under Siege is a NUFDI booklet documenting the 2025 persecution of Iran's religious minorities through individual case profiles. The report explains how Iran's government frequently responds to external pressure by intensifying domestic repression, characterizing communities like Baha'is and Christian converts as "security threats" connected to foreign interests.
The report counters this narrative by providing detailed information about targeted individuals, including where and when they were targeted, and which rights were violated, through arbitrary detention, enforced disappearance, torture, denial of counsel, excessive bail, medical neglect, and property seizure.
The booklet features 53 profiles of faith-based persecution victims. Released during the Hanukkah and Christmas season, it highlights the severe abuses faced by religious minorities in Iran. By documenting individual cases with specific details, the report serves as both a human rights record and a call to recognize this repression as part of the broader struggle for Iranian freedom.
